Ghaziabad: A reply to the RTI query has revealed that Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has collected more than RS 78 Crore as a home tax of Indirapuram residents in the last 17 years but has not spent anything to improve the Book of the Book in the city.
The reason, according to officials, is that Indirapuram is given by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), which must maintain civil facilities in the city.
This argument has led citizens to question the right of GMC to collect home tax in Indirapuram.

“GMC has collected home tax from Indirapuram since 2004-05.
Until 2020-21, more than RS 78 Crore has been collected.
