Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) will begin to install a rainwater harvesting system in more than 200 parks under his jurisdiction to save the thinnest levels of groundwater.
The system already exists in 89 parks.
Commissioner of Mahendra Singh Tanwar said, “We will install the rainwater harvesting system in our 200 parks which are the addition of 89 parks where the system already exists.
This will help us refill groundwater levels in the city,” added Tanwar.
GMC has 1,246 parks under control and Tanwar say that next year the rain harvesting system will be installed in all parks.
Meanwhile, district administration also plans to form a rainwater harvesting system in all government buildings.
“Of the 189 government buildings, the work of installing the rainy water system has begun at 36 of them and we will soon discuss the building immediately,” said an official from the district government.
