GMDA fails on maintenance work, will take over the road, camera, and green belt, MCG said

Gurgaon: raising questions for the ability of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), MCG’s house on Saturday issued a resolution to reclaim certain maintenance of civil facilities – such as roads, green belts and CCTV cameras – which were transferred to authorities in 2018.
While the Civic body took care of All arterial roads, road colonies and internal waterways in Gurgaon, the development authority is responsible for all the main roads, green belts, CCTV cameras, and master channels.
At home meetings, the MCG council accused GMDA failing to carry out the right maintenance work in the city and claim that some development projects have been lying incomplete.
They also demanded that GMDA involve MCG and board members in the decision-making process while planning new projects.
The Mayor of Madhu Azad said he would soon write a letter to the government to take maintenance work from GMDA.
“A proposal was passed by the house to attract certain services, such as main road maintenance and green belts, and the installation of CCTV cameras in various wards, from GMDA.” CEO of GMDA Sudhir Rajpal, however, refused to comment on developments.
Ward 25 member of the Subhash Board Singh said, “There is a lack of serious coordination between the two institutions because of the problems concerning the population is not resolved on time.
For example, service roads with MCG, while green belts are maintained by GMDA and inhibit this regional development work.” The marathon house meeting which lasted for about eight hours, all board members unanimously questioned one-time payment from Rs 500 Crore to GMDA for infrastructure work.
“If the Civic body is a must walk on foot for the construction work from the coffers, then what is the need for GMDA to carry out work and get unable credit.
MCG is able to do such work,” said Kuldeep Yadav, Ward 29 Board members.
However, GMDA’s source said the resolution was ratified for political reasons.
“The MCG selection will mature next year, and this council members all come out to get credit.
Even though we have no problems including them in decision making, it involves them will only delay the process and implementation of work in the field,” said an official.
At home meetings, a proposal also passed to arrange tree logging in the MCG area.
The board members unanimously gave a proposal to rename one road on DLF Phase-1 to commemorate the RS RS RSHee RS RS, who died in May this year.
