Gurgaon: To ensure road safety in low visibility days, the Metropolitan Development Authority Gurugram has decided to install traffic control devices on all roads and intersections in the city.
With misty conditions, driving a little difficult today, GMDA officials have acted and their road safety plans include repairing reflective road studs, metal delineaters, flexible median markers and solar cat eyes, as well as the installation of danger markers and informatium signs.
Furthermore, officials said that they would also make road marks using thermoplastic paint, if needed, as part of the project.
“This work will be carried out throughout the city because the winter of the peak and the fog season will start, so wherever we feel there are critical points or accident-prone areas, we will provide any protection we can,” said a senior GMDA official who did not Want to be named.
“We will first take action at all critical and vulnerable points, after which work will continue for four months.
GMDA maintains all the main roads in the city, so all this and the intersection along them will be borne in this work,” added officials that.
The work will be executed at a cost of around Rs 87.34 lakh and will involve providing and repairing traffic control devices on all GMDA stretches.
Of 1,200 kilometers of road networks in the city, GMDA manages around 250 kilometers, including several critical stretches such as Netaji Subhash Marg, Jalan Mehraulion-Gurgaon, and the South Peripheral Road.
“We have floated tenders for this work and hope to finish it quickly.
It won’t take much time,” said further officials.
