GMDA to organize disaster recovery facilities to keep the data safe

Gurgaon: The Authority of Gurugram Metropolitan Development (GMDA) will soon establish disaster recovery facilities, where all the data will be replicated and stored.
This facility will ensure that the authority does not lose any data if there is an adverse incident in the data center in his office in sector 44.
It will take “six to seven months” to build facilities, according to GMDA.
“For each data system, you have a Data Center (DC) and disaster recovery (DR).
Initially, we set up DC, and now, we will build Dr.
The goal is to ensure that data is replicated and available in other locations if there is a big problem In the data center, “said a senior GMDA official who did not want to be named.
The problem has appeared for discussion at the meeting of the GMDA Core Planning Cell (CPC) last week, where the City Smart division suggested checking DR settings to ensure data security.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sudhir Rajpal then directed officials from the Geographic Information Survey (GIS) Division of GMDA, Command and Control Center (ICCUc), and Information Technology Department (IT) to work with suggestions.
He has directed officials to prepare the infrastructure proposal needed and submit it for approval.
“Disaster recovery will be established soon.
It won’t need a lot of time.
We must be able to prepare it in a six to seven months,” the official said.
