Greater Noida: In a step that will significantly increase sanitation in the city, The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (Gnida) has initiated the Challan on-the-spot system through the Point of Sale (POS) engine for illegal waste disposal in the city.
The limit is updated in the authority note.
To start, a smaller fine will be implemented, officials on authority say.
“We are the first authority in the country that will charge a fine for unattended garbage using the Point of Sale engine.
With this, Challan on-the-spot will be generated, and the number of Challan will also be debited immediately, just like a debit card machine.
This will eliminate The complexity of producing instructions and updating in the authority record, “said Salil Yadav, Deputy General Manager of the Public Health Department, Gnida.
This machine will be with the Department of Public Health Authority and will be used by their team during their routine sanitation inspection throughout the city.
According to officials, along with the awareness campaign to make noida clean, the authority also utilizes the use of technology in this drive.
“With the post machine, the authority made a new start using technology.
Point of Sale Machine was developed in collaboration with HDFC Bank.
The trial has begun and good data will be updated on the authority website,” added Yadav.
Meanwhile, because the 2016 solid waste management rules apply in Greater Noida, below it, all mass waste generators must manage their waste on their own.
“Authority will only take an inert waste where the fixed costs will be imposed on the bulk waste generator,” Yadav said.
