Nagpur: The Minister of Transportation Union Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that vehicles in the city must be exclusively run on environmentally friendly fuel such as ethanol and effort in this case.
“Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) must also take the initiative for the production of ‘hydrogen green’ which can be produced from water,” Gadkari said during the commissioning of three mini sewerage processing plants in three parks – Shankati Nagar, and the Mhada colony here on Sunday.
“Many new experiments take place in the city of Nagpur for the first time.
Now it is necessary to work on three areas of noise, water and air pollution,” he said.
According to Gadkari, NMC must prepare a plan to get rid of pollution in the city of Nagpur in the next five years.
With corporate initiatives, around five lakh trees must be planted every year to make the number one city nagpur in terms of greenery and environmentally friendly, he said.
Gadkari said that NMC has set many records in terms of environment.
Already, NMC supplies sewerage 320ml water treated to power plants and generates 60 crore per year.
The addition of 12 mini STP in Gardens is another achievement for NMC, which will treat 105mld waste water per day, it shows.
The Minister also appreciates the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari, Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B and Executive Engineer (Public Health Engineering) Shweta Banerjee for this project.
