New Delhi: Swimmer of India Sajan Prakash and Srihari Nataraj may have an Olympics Tokyo who is underwhelming but the duo feels that the experience obtained will help them in the upcoming event when they train their views on the Podium and Asian Games match next year.
Prakash wrote a new chapter in Indian swimming history by being the first swimmer of the country to qualify for the Olympics by breaking the standard time ‘A’ at a meeting that qualified in Rome on June 26 later, Nataraj replicated the achievement to seal his bed for Tokyo’s bed.
Both swimmers consistently shave the time to achieve a sign that is difficult to understand in their respective events.
However, they cannot repeat their appearance in Tokyo, failing to qualify for the semifinals.
Nataraj recorded 54.31 to complete the total 27 in the back style of 100m, while Prakash was managed 1: 57.22 at the 200m butterfly event to be ranked 24th among 38 swimmers.
Both of them couldn’t even match their personal best value, which they had a few weeks before.
“I don’t have enough time to compete at the Olympics after Italy.
We only have three weeks to start again.
If I have three months, it will be a better performance,” said Prakash PTI.
“I’ve tapered to the maximum for the qualification meeting, out and then I have to go back again and start with aerobic work, build it and then decrease to the day of competition.
The need for at least six weeks,” Prakash added.
Tapering refers to practice reducing the volume of training while increasing the break to prepare a person’s body to achieve the best time that is important.
“I was tapered for two-two-week for Rome.
After that I had to practice back to get my base back and it caused fatigue.
I needed a lot of tapering, we only had three afterwards Rome.
I don’t have time to train and tapered,” Nataraj said to PTI.
“I prepared the best, trying to return to training and peaked back in 3 weeks after Rome but it seemed quite difficult,” he added.
But it was not said that both were satisfied with their performance, especially Nataraj.
Have Bengaluru.
The swimmer replicates his best personal, he will get to the semifinals.
“It was disappointing but I remember I was so tired after the race I couldn’t even stand up.
I struggled to walk.
It’s just a pain,” said Nataraj.
It has become a difficult year for both swimmers, while Prakash struggles with slipped discs, Nataraj, who trains in Bengaluru, wrestling with an inconsistent training period when the swimming pool is closed in the country because of the Pandemic Covid-19.
To add to the 20-year-old misery, he also suffered an injury when he continued training.
“Really (disappointed), I hope to go faster but I don’t happen.
With injury and return from him to qualify in a shorter time, it’s a mess,” said Prakash, who will now undergo a two-week Ayurvedic treatment for problems His neck.
Nataraj was also unhappy with the training module entering the Mega event.
“I am not out of the best training cycle, my fitness is low.
The burden is not well distributed.
I have to work on speed, base, threshold, opening, and closure, techniques, everything must be done in a short range and also not too burden because I came From injury, “Nataraj explained.
The Olympics taught both valuable swimmers.
Lessons and Duo plan to use experience at the upcoming event.
“Standing there in the block makes me realize a lot of things.
Being close to world standards with this time and experience will be very helpful for me in the future, move towards Asian games, Commonwealth games and the world and maybe the next Olympics,” said Prakash .
“I know what’s wrong.
But more than swimming, I have learned how to prepare before, after swimming, during the meeting.
How to do my fitness, recovery, what I eat,” said Nataraj.
“My main target now is Commonwealth and Asian games.
hope to get 2-3 medals in these two shows, “he added.
