Margao: Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Friday that the party was committed to the empowerment of women in Goa, and ensured that they recruited more women in the police, giving credit to RS 1 lakh for women’s groups, and ordering 30% work for women, if Congress comes to the office in the upcoming Assembly poll.
He accused the BJP government as an anti-women and against the empowerment of women who, he said, as evidenced by the increasing cases of crime against women.
Vadra said that the upcoming poll was the last and only opportunity for Goans to save the cave from their hands who had no concern for people and for the welfare of the country.
“If the country runs once more into those who do not have concern for GOANS, Goa, which is a beautiful condition, can be destroyed,” he warned, while overcoming the worship of women in Margao.
“Congress wants that Goa returns to the hands of Goa people, that all decisions about the issues about Goa are consumed.
Therefore, do not give you a voice to any party who does not talk about development, about problems about women and safety They, about health, education and the environment.
“He promised that Congress would work with dedication to people’s welfare and solely for the benefit of Goa if it comes to the office.
“You have seen BJP for 10 years, you see false greed and intention.
If you want to save Goa, you need a government that will be in your service dedicated,” he said.
Referring to the 2017 poll, he accused BJP to steal the people’s mandate.
“In the last election, you choose Congress, but you are robbed of your government, only for the purpose of looting state resources.
When it is a government mentality, people can get but disrespectfully.
And when elections come, they almost don’t talk about giving work, protect The environment and empower women, but only play on your emotions, “he said.
Speaking on three linear projects that have seen rigid opposition from the locals, Vadra said that the projects were intended to “only benefit one industrialist who in the business importing coal”.
“For what these projects? There is no benefit for Goa people or for the construction of countries in these projects.
Pollution will increase, the hills and rivers will be damaged, and Dudhsagar waterfall will be destroyed by these projects,” he said .
Previously, interacting with the ‘Amchem Mollem’ student activist in Margao, Vadra urged people not to choose parties and politicians who support the destruction of the Goa environment, even when he showed the opposition voiced on these projects by the leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress.
