Porvorimi: Opposition tore the Government’s track record in accusing accusations of rape, especially those involved in the case of Gangrape.
Leading the lead in cornering the government, Goa Forward Party (GFP) Mla Vijai Sardesai said that after arresting the defendant, who was guilty of being charged and punished in court.
Sardesai also alleged that the influential ministers tried to influence the investigation against Gangrape two little girls on the Benaulim Beach early on Sunday by four men posing as police officers.
Even though Sawant was happy to deny the allegations of political interference, he finally admitted that one of the four accused was a driver with the Ministry of Agriculture.
“The trial must be fast,” Sardesai said.
“Gangrape 2018 jammed and the trial had not started.
We well congratulated the police for arresting the defendant, but nothing happened after that.
You have to take assignments for the task.” Sardesai said that the history of Madhya Pradesh – Sheeter Ishwar Makwana was still running away, Without progress made in capturing it or starting the trial.
“Punishment must be taken and the case must be accelerated.
Only so we can say that this government is sincere about law and order.” This problem arose for discussion after the Benaulim Mla Churchill Alemao expressed concern over the Gangrape case recently in the Benaulim.
“This is a 14-15 year old girl and four accused, who has been arrested, must get a life sentence.
No one has to influence the police to try and give up the charges.
From what I heard, the police station gets many calls,” said Alemoo.
Sardesai supports Alemao and said that a minister tried to take part in the investigation into the Gangrape on the Benaulim Beach.
“My charge is that there is a political disorder,” he said.
The accusation pushed Sawant to jump stand to defend the Goa police.
Sawant challenged Sardesai to take the name of the minister or pulled his accusation, which was rejected by Fatorda Mla.
While Sardesai seeks guarantees from the government that the actions will be taken against those who were arrested and accused of rape and gangrape, MGL MLA Ramakrishna Sudin Dhavalikar demanded an investigation to influence the investigation into the Gangrape Benaulim case.
“We want white paper with an answer from the minister’s chairman about how many people have been arrested under this action and what the sentence is given,” Sardesai said.
Sawant agreed to provide that information on Thursday.
