Goa Airport sets a record of 102 departures on Sundays

PANAJI: While the global air industry drops to a bumpy with thousands of cancellations, the opposite applies to Goa International Airports, which break the record of most flights on one day.
On Sundays, the airport handled 204 domestic arrivals and departures within a 24-hour period, which was a historic high for the Indian airport airport authority.
Lone Goa Airport handles 1,206 flight movements between December 28 and January 2 with 1.6 lakh which moves in and out during this period.
Remembering flight requests to Goa, there are some flights that are not scheduled operated too.
“Historic High at Goa International Airport as 102 domestic departures scheduled to be handled on Sundays.
This is aside from 12 non-scheduled flights and international flights,” said Gagan Malik Goa Airport Director.
According to data compiled by the Indian Airport Authority, 79,896 domestic passengers flew to the state between December 28 and January 2.
Most passengers flew on December 30 and with most of them going on Sundays for their homes.
Given the request of flight to Goa, there are 12 aircraft operations that are not scheduled that operate and from Goa for a period of six days.
Malik stated that the cave airport handled 88 departures on average day with take-off reached 95 at a certain weekend.
Given that Goa has emerged as the number one domestic goal to ring in the new year, flight movements also see an increase.
With flight requests, airfares have also soared.
Flight tickets from Goa to Many Metro have risen almost four times after New Year’s Day.
Goa-Chennai Flight Tickets, which are usually charged around Hospital 3,500, are appreciated by more than Rs 11,300 for Sundays.
Similarly, airplane tickets on the Goa-Bengaluru route, which usually rs 2,500, surged to almost Rs 9,500 the following day 1.
The aviation tariff of Goa-Mumbai also rose to Rs 7,500 per person for January 2, such as a little more than Rs 2,000 on the day normal.
To put things in perspective, while the Goa International Airport handles 1.6 lakh passengers in a six-day period, the terminal is designed to meet 76 lakh passengers per year.
AAI has started an expansion project for the construction of the RS 255.7 Crore airport terminal which will increase the capacity of airport passenger handling to 13 million passengers per year.
