PANAJI: Bala rose, 31, a rape accused the declared dead at the North Goa District Hospital last week, allegedly has an overdose of psychiatric drugs.
Nesting in Colvale Central Jail, rising was found unconscious in his cell.
The postmortem report has revealed that it has cerebral edema – brain swelling – life-threatening conditions.
Blood and Visa samples have been maintained for chemical analysis, doctors from the Department of Medical and Toxicology forensic GMC.
“Rising has cerebral edema, we suspect that he must have consumed all his psychiatric drugs together which caused an overdose,” said the forensic doctor.
The doctor said the deceased was under psychiatric care, so it needed to be examined whether the prescribed drugs were given to his ownership, or whether the dose was given to him every day, according to the course schedule.
On the day rising was found unconscious in his cell, he also visited the patient’s patient department (OPD), a drug treatment center at the North Goa District Hospital, said the source.
The deceased had told the doctor in the OPD that he wanted to give up the use of drugs, which he began to take from a very young age.
“He told us that he wanted to stop consuming drugs.
He wants to use therapy.
After recording his history, he was given the drug and asked to come again,” said the source.
The source said that posing his death, it was revealed that he had not revealed the correct information about himself.
