Panaji: Coastal Zone Management Authority of Goa has approved the ecological project and sea ecotourism in Chorao.
Part of the central strategy to knock on the potential of the Khazan tourism landed on “experimental basis”, this project will be developed by the private sector, with the expertise of the Indian Agricultural Research Council (ICAR) project, along the spice plantation line in Kunaghars, planned to function as The education center for visitors about the importance of the Khazan ecosystem, Agri-Ptsik practices, and traditional agricultural methods in Goa.
GCZMA said that it has approved a project for its unique methodology.
It was observed that on the land where the project was proposed, agricultural activities had not taken the last decade due to the ingress of salt water.
“This proposal aims to revive the Khazan agricultural system through a scientific approach.

This can be achieved by creating facilities where people can Come and understand, foster skills through direct training, “Project Proposal said.
Twenty-one temporary huts will be arranged using environmentally friendly material on the land side.
Coastal Ecological Information Center, signs that describe the importance of Traditional Teasons and traditional agricultural plants along with Pisciculture, and Training Center with Stay facilities for tourists and visitors is part of the proposed project.
Icar has been taken as a scientific and technical partner, a retired scientist from the National Institute of Oceanography, which helps document the diversity of regional species, which will be used to develop training and educational material for the center, the Proponent Project told GCZMA.
Mangrove and bird tourism in connection with the cave forest department has also been proposed as part of the project.
“Facilities made can also be used as a training center and capacity building for local residents, students, teachers, and every other stakeholders who are interested in the resurrection of the land of Khazan,” said the initiates to GCZMA.
GCZMA said that it had agreed to a project that saw the need for the resurrection of the Khazan ecosystem and the unique methodology proposed for it.
The condition of GCZMA states that land use from project locations may not be changed and educational research activities must be taken at the center in Chorao.

GCZMA also said that only environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo must be used for construction at the project site.
