Panaji: With the same goal to deal with BJP in the next assembly election, the oldest regional party in Goa, MGP, and AAP is exploring the possibility of the pre-poll alliance.
National Connanger AAP and Delhi Chairman Arvind Kelamanwal, who arrived on a two-day visit to Goa to review the party’s preparation for the 2022 poll, held a meeting with a senior MGP official, former Deputy Minister of Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, and Brother, President Mgp Pandurang ‘ Deepak ‘Dhavalikar.
The meeting lasted for about 45 minutes.
MGP tries to make a meeting light.
The former CM representative said that they did not discuss active politics, and it was only a courtesy visit.
“We have discussed their respective jobs carried out in Goa and Delhi,” he said.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the current political situation in the state, and how to continue in the future.
The MGP source said that his officials told Kejriwal that they had to seek the opinions of people before deciding the alliance.
A political observer said that while AAP tried to expand his base in Goa, it would be interesting to see how the MGP application alliance needed.
In the election of the recent Zilla Panchayat, AAP was able to open his account by winning the Benaulim seat when his 26-year-old candidate, Hanzel Feliciano Fernandes, won the three-cornered battle.
“AAP has a strong presence in South Goa, especially in Salcete, while MGP is strong in Ponda and in North Goa,” said political observer.
Kejriwal is busy at night meetings with party officials and take job reviews carried out by AAP in the state.
The President of the Association of Taxi Taxi Chetan Kamati joined AAP.
