Goa: Bad infrastructure along Jalan Guirim-Karaswada causes confusion, placing risky riders

Guirim: The expansion of the NH 66 on Goa continues to contribute to passenger misery because they are forced to navigate limited roads and avoid holes in the middle of an inadequate traffic.
Risk, they are increasing in Guirim (Green Park) and Karaswada Junction in Bardez, where there is no road divider and signage that clearly confuses many motorists, even those who use routes regularly.
The local bus driver Namdev Pednekar said the middle day traffic rush was very troublesome.
“In some places, the service road or exit is not clearly indicated, so many vehicles that are wrong to get into the coming traffic lane.
Narrow caraswada stretch is very uncomfortable to travel because it is used as a two-way road by trucks and cars.
Walking Almost cannot accommodate one-way traffic like that, “he said.
On July 2, 2021, TOI has linked a report on how widening and digging work by government institutions has caused similar navigation problems and road damage at the busy chimbel intersection along Jalan Bypass Kadamba and at the intersection of Merces.
Problems in Guirim and Karaswada Junction Increased post-sunset due to lack of illumination made it difficult to see livestock lost on the road.
Riders, especially two-wheeled riders, also complained they could not see deep holes when they were filled with rainwater.
So there is also a problem of lack of barricades along the surface elevated.
“Those who travel from Guirim Cross towards Karaswada are at risk of curb to the extreme left of the high road that does not have a fence to protect the vehicle,” said Regular Commuter, Dionne Desouza.
The intersection that connects to Bastora has a similar problem, including a very narrow bridge that often goes down when it rains.
Both intersection sides have become the cause of traffic congestion because of the narrow road.
Road service from Acoi to Bastora, near traffic lights, also in bad conditions.
Narrow and vehicles sometimes tend to come to a one-way stretch because of the lack of clear signage.
