Margao: The entry of the two former officials of the Congress of Community St Fatorda into BJP camp earlier this week along with a large number of their supporters were seen among the political circles as a successful social engineering exercise.
Former Fatorda Block Congress President Piedade Noronha and 2017 Congressional candidate from Fatorda Joseph d’Silva made the switch on Tuesday.
A day later, its development has echoes in the meeting chaired by BJP National Secretary responsible for Goa, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, CT Ravi, in the party district office in Margao, where he spoke to the party workers of Fatorda and Navelim Constituence.
BJP Organization Secretary Satish Dhond, together with the Secretary General of the Party and former MlaDamodar ‘Damu’ Naik, was also present at the meeting.
“It took 20 years to win the trust of the community St.
in Fatorda.
Congress and Goa Forward Party (GFP) using a community with an eye on the voice bank.
Community leaders have realized that BJP has a vision that goes beyond the vote, the election and the power,” said Naik.
Sources said that the meeting is part of an ongoing exercise to strengthen the BJP party organization.
Ravi advised party workers to ensure that the government’s plans, policies and schemes reach every household and to reach the needy.
A few hours before the meeting, Naik playing host Rajendra Arlekar Governor of Himachal Pradesh in Gogolnya residence on Wednesday.
The visit was described as the personal involvement of Governor.
“The visit is purely personal.
He fell when he was on his way to somewhere else.
Our discussions centered on various issues.
We discussed several issues of mutual interest,” said Naik.
He said that the governor also wished him well in a bid back in Fatorda, a movement which, he said, expressed his appreciation of social engineering movement party.
