Goa board panel to collect data on Covid orphans, suggest intervention

“Considering trauma and sudden losses suffered by several students because of the death of one or more family members who surrendered to Covid-19, it was resolved by the council to form a welfare committee.

The Committee is expected to prepare reports that provide special recommendations to the state government about the steps of welfare, counseling, rehabilitation, etc., from the students.
This report must be submitted in September.
Shetye said that the details of students affected by the learning of class IX to XII will be collected by the Committee of the Institutes, while also making recommendations about the nature of the assistance that can be given to the students.
“We will first approach the state government, who have also collected the data.
After we compile data, we will contact their students or schools and see how the Goa board can help them.
There are so many students, especially in Vasco, where They lost one parent or family member for Covid.
Many students have also attracted their public exam form because of fear of infection, “said Cabral.
He said the committee would check whether the cave council could help the students by returning their test costs or contacted their school for counseling for them.
“We will consider releasing such students’ costs or giving them help for internet packages to help them connect to online classes.
We will think of incentives to help them,” Cabral said.
Every mortality in the family family during the period March 2020 to August 2021 will be recorded.
