PANAJI: With Calangute Panchayat launched a smartphone application, villagers can now obtain work-related works everyday perfection on the click of the button.
With that, the Civic body has become the only Pancrayat to develop it itself.
From payment of home taxes to registration of new business companies, this application currently serves the needs of villagers and business people’s needs.
Will soon have features such as maps and save trackers for tourist interests.
Other Panchayats have a website.
This application is conceptualized by Sarpanch Shawn Martins and Benedict Lobo software developer.
“In addition to various Panchayat services, users can also pay their electricity bills and other financial services.
We have binded with the Gateway Payment of HDFC Bank to ensure smooth traction.
Warning and announcements about Panchayat village events are also notified through the application,” Lobo said.

The platform also displays the number of houses, the number of business companies and payment status for services such as waste pick-up, tax reform, and number of days due to payment updates.
Efforts will also be carried out to digitize trade licenses of various business companies.
The IT team will update the application, follow the green signal from Panchayat, to develop a unique QR code for each business establishment in jurisdiction, which will be inserted in the form of stickers.
Therefore, the pot inspector will be able to check the license by scanning the QR code and verifying the business trafficking license.
“It will also help legalize all shops that are not registered with Panchayat and let Panchayat collect higher income.
Once we get ‘okay’ of them, we will be able to add this feature,” Lobo said.
