Goa CM calls for greater involvement of young people in politics

Panaji: Chief of Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the state did not require a ‘family of Raj’ (dynasty rules), even when he urged youth to advance to become future leaders.
He also emphasized the need for a greater representation by them in a democratic and political arena.
Sawant, who speaks in the National Youth Parliament, said the state government is committed to planning young people in the best way to lead democracy.
He made a case for the establishment of private universities in the state, such as design universities and skills, to offer young people a large number of courses to choose from.
Only young people can achieve the goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi related to the new Indian mission, Sawant said, and added that his government had worked tirelessly to provide the best facilities for youth progress, including a number of schemes that complement the growth and development of young people in Goa.
There is a special focus on improving technical education, the main minister said, where various young oriented courses have been introduced in schools and colleges to provide practical experiences that help them develop the skills needed by the industry.
