Goa: Confusion to rest, Tricolor Flutter High on St Jacinto Island

Panaji: Tangging tensions on St Jacinto Island through informal discussions with villagers and fishermen, Tricolor together was appointed by Indian naval personnel and local residents on Saturday.
Navy officials and veterans met with villagers, which were misled by local politicians, and convinced them that there was no hidden motive behind the Indian naval steps to lift the national flag.
ViriTo Fernandes Navy Veteran described the tension created by local politicians as “inappropriate for” while the former Admiral Naval Chief Arun Prakash called it a “storm in a teacup”.
Conversely, local residents, including parents and children, turned out to pay respect to the national flag and sang the national anthem at 2:45 p.m.
accompanied by a local pastor.
“After a little misunderstanding on Friday, a team from the Goa Navy and the population peacefully participated in lifting the national flag on St Jacinto Island,” said the Indian Navy in a short statement.
“The population also sang national anthem along with the Navy team during the event.” Naval authorities must leave their plans to lift tricolor on the beautiful island on Friday after the misunderstanding was trimmed between local residents and navy personnel.
Nationalist Congress of the Party of State President Jose Phillip D’Souza added fuel to the fire with a strange claim that the patriotic event was a trick to “catch the locals.” This is a plan to try and test our reactions before they catch this island, “said D ‘ Souza on Friday after mobilizing a number of residents.
While condemning local residents, Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant described the local population as an anti-citizen and directed the authority to start the investigation.
“The efforts of anti-India activities will be handled with iron fists,” said Chairman of the Minister .
Light shedding in the poor incident that occurred on Friday, Fernandes said that the village residents were wary of the government’s intention since the island residents were dropped from the coastal management plan of the state government (CZMP).
“They were afraid of losing a house where the government had not yet show their home in CZMP, “said Fernandes.” Village residents t After lifting the tricolor himself every 15 August at 8 am.
They asked naval personnel that instead of lifting the national flag itself, the Naval Authority could join the villagers on Sunday, “Fernandes said.
Former Admiral Naval Chief Arun Prakash said that the problem was destroyed outside the proportion.” A typical ‘Storm in a teacup? In small island villages in the smallest state of India, villagers – all Indians – want to use their rights under Art 19 Constitution, to lift the national flag.
They don’t need naval assistance for this, “said Admiral Prakash.
