PANAJI: Goa board on Tuesday released a policy document that outlined alternative methods to assess class X and XII students for this academic year if the pandemic situation survived.
It was said that the deliberation began after the 2021 public exam could not be held because of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the policy, during the academic year 2021-22, the council – and not school – will do each of the two final exams.
Thus, this academic year and the syllability will be divided into two terms.
Someone will end in November-December, and the other in March-April.
In the first terminal exam, students will be assessed based on multiple choice questions.
The second term will consist of assessment based on subjective questions.
Signs in the first term and the examination of the second term will contribute to the overall score of the end of the student, the council has stated.
The council called for objections and suggestions until 10 August.
This policy also allows schools to get ‘creative’ with their internal assessment.
For class X and XII, according to policy, internal assessment will be made throughout the year.
Of the three periodic tests that the school will be asked to do as part of an internal assessment, the third test will be needed to assess students ‘creative’, in addition to through practical work and other activities, the Board said.
“It will also include unit testing / practical exploration / project activities.
The school will create a student profile for all assessments conducted for a year, and maintain evidence in digital format.

The council said the policy was also framed because some concerns over internet connectivity, the availability of gadgets for students, etc.
“The Board also considered concerns about the availability of electronic gadgets, connectivity, and other effectiveness of online teaching and other socialization of economic problems, especially in connection with students from the economically weaker and those in areas far from the country,” Document said.
Assessment can be made in offline or online mode based on the pandemic situation.
“Goa boards have to cancel the XII Council XII and Class XII 20-2021 exam because it is at risk of doing them in the second wave in April 2021,” he said, explaining the reason.
