Ponda: With the first multi-faculty college taluka that works, the Laid Stone Foundation for the University of National Forensic Sciences and the University of India’s International Law Education will emerge, Dharbandora Taluka will soon be known as the center of knowledge of the near future, said Minister of Pramod Sawant.
Sawant spoke at the Stone Foundation plate ceremony from Guonkar Memorial Goa Multi-Faculty of Higher Education Building in Dharbandora on Thursday.
Higher education that began in June 2013 currently functions from a government school near the employee quarter of Sanjivani Sugar.
The minister’s chairman said Dharbandora Taluka would not be a mere mining belt, but would soon be known for his educational institution.
He further said the state government also contemplated plans to develop it as a tourism destination.
Local minister and Minister PwD Deepak Pauskar appealed to local residents to support the IIT campus in Dharbandora.
He also said that the government would regulate the Sanjivani sugar factory contract staff.
