PANAJI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said that the raids have recently revealed that drug vendors are increasingly using digital payments and passwords to find out whether the original customers, and to provide drugs.
NCB has noted that until the passcode divided by the customer, the dealer does not send drugs.
In two separate narcotics raids this week, NCB arrested three people, including two Nigerians and one local drug, and confiscated worth Rs 30 Lakh.
Zonal Director NCB Sameler Wankhede said that in this operation, the bureau intercepted three people in various locations and won a total of 60 ECSTASY / MDMA tablets, 350g from Charas Nepal and 20 LSD numbers.
In the first case, Wankhede said that on the basis of reliable information, the team with NCB Mumbai and Goa carried out an attack on Gaum Waddo, Anjuna, and won 37 ecstasy / MDMA tablets and a large number of Charas, and intercepted Roque Jose Fernandez.
In the follow-up operation, the NCB team restored 340 g of Charas Nepal from a wheeled vehicle both parked at Anjuna.
He also said that based on the initial disclosure of Fernandez, NCB intercepted one Nigeria, namely Chidi Osita Okonkwo aka Benjamin with 23 Ecstasy / MDMA tablets.
Wankhede said that Benjamin was intercepted after the pursuit of 500m on foot in the forest.
Three NCB officials were injured in pursuit.
“Benjamin is the main supplier of drugs,” Wankhede said.
“Fernandez is a famous drug mortgage from northern cave.
He was previously booked in two NDPS cases and at this time came out with a guarantee.” Wankhede also said that Fernandez had a hotel in Anjuna.
“Fernandez operates a drug racket from the ice-cum-cum-cum-grocery shop,” Wankhede said.
“The drugs were booked in the ice cream room and he gave medicines from one guest house in Anjuna.
Payments are made digitally by using Google Pay, etc.” He also said that Fernandez also provides drugs to tourists and consumers at front of the guest house.
Some complaints have been received from neighbors and several tourists about peddling drugs.
NCB said that Charas Nepal was a pure form of Charas.
Imported from Nepal and more expensive than Charas India.
In the second operation, Wankhede said that NCB intercepted one Nigeria, Onayeka Egike, and won 20 LSD numbers at Bardez.
“The initial investigation has revealed that the defendant said using a unique modus operandi to provide a drug consignment – he used a password to identify original customers.
He changed the location of the delivery several times, and made customers wait 5-6 hours to ensure their authenticity,” Wankhede said.
Wankhede said that Egike used two-wheeled vehicles to deliver, and that the motorbike had also been confiscated.
He had previously been ordered in the case of NDPS in 2019 by Crime Branch, and now it comes out with a guarantee.
