Panaji: The branch of the Goa Police Crime arrested a man from Mormugao and Jharkhand’s native to conduct transactions in narcotics drugs in the northern cave coastal belt.
Duo is held in Mandrem.
The police also confiscated 2,400 kg worth of marijuana around Rs 2.4 lakh from the defendant.
The crime branch said that PSI Nitin Halarnkar received reliable information accused by someone, Ibrahim Shaikh, 29, from Mormugao, currently living in Junas Vado in Mandrem is expected to provide narcotics there on July 13, between 6-6.30.
Halangkar, along with Pi Rahul Puriab, Pi Narayan Chimulkar and two police officers, waited for Shaikh near the ‘Forest Park’ at Junas Wado.
Shaikh was held there and the drugs were confiscated from him.
The arrest led the police to Arman Dass, 29, Ranchi’s native who currently lives in Gaude Wado in Mandrem.
He was arrested for supplying medicine to Shaikh.
The two defendants were ordered to hatch the criminal conspiracy to conduct transactions in narcotics narcotics and then, after being investigated, placed under the arrest.
“During the interrogation watershed revealed that he had carried out drug transaction activities in the beach belt area.
Further investigation was taking place by PSI Jairam Kunkalkar,” said Crime Branch.
