Panaji: EX-GRATIA RELIEF RS 2 LAKH each was submitted to 57 beneficiaries, which lost family members to the virus, on Friday.
The Chairperson of the Minister of Pramod Sawant also submitted 125 forms to those who from the unorganized sector that was hit by a pandemic to enable them to take advantage of each RS 5,000.
The minister’s chairman said that those who cannot obtain a death certificate in time can also submit their forms for ex-gratia payments and the same thing will be verified and processed at the end of the government.
“Some people might not submit their forms for ex-gratia compensation because they have not received a death certificate.
Death certificates can be delayed.
But even such family members must submit their claims and we will get it verified with GMC if the person’s name is in the list Covid death and processing claims, “Sawant said.
He said if two brothers died in the same family, the two families could claim the benefits separately.
“I did not claim that I had done a lot of things, but Goa was the only country that tried to expand financial assistance of Rs 2 Lakh as a benefit of Covid death assistance.
It was very disappointing that many people lost their lives because of a pandemic.
Some lose two or three family members .
Some suffer loss of income family members.
So the government initiated steps to help them, “Sawant said.
The remaining beneficiaries will soon benefit, once their form is processed.
Secretary for Social Welfare Y V V J Rajshekhar said that those who received the command of sanctions would get their money transferred on Friday itself.
“One-time RS 5,000 package will be given to those who are in traditional work in an unorganized sector such as motorcycle pilots, which are exposed to a pandemic.
We will provide packages before Ganesh Chaturthi in September 10.
The form has been submitted to 125 people today,” ECM said.
Sawant said when Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated on a big trip in Goa, he had instructed representatives of collectors to consult with Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandals and submit reports so that the SOP for festivals can be framed.
“It is still high and everyone must continue to follow all Covid norms.
Everyone must ensure that no crowding.
They must ensure that they take vaccinations as soon as possible.
Vaccination is the only solution,” Sawant said.
He said he would start a campaign for future polls from Saturday from the Constitution of Saligao.
“The type of response we get from people, we believe will be elected with the majority in 2022.
We are sure to be selected with 22 chairs plus,” said the ministerial head.
