Panaji: said that the tourism industry has been beaten with a pandemic, Governor of Pillai said that there will be a healthy revival in the coming days.
“Goa is committed to achieving the goal of becoming a welfare state that will guarantee minimum food, residence, health and education to every citizen of their prosperity,” he said.
He spoke after unfurling a national flag on the occasion of 73 Republic Day held at Campal, Panaji on Wednesday.
“The natural beauty and tranquility of the state, the vibrant culture and hospitality of the people, flora and fauna have contributed to the growth of tourism in the state,” he added.
As the truth of the state for assembly elections, Pillai asked all cave voters to participate enthusiastically in the voting process by attending the Covid protocol strictly.
He also urged people to promise to remain loyal to the country’s constitution in letters and spirits.
Pillai said that it was the duty of every citizen to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
“More than 98% of the eligible population in Goa has been fully vaccinated, including people in the age group 15-18 and a dose of booster for people over 60 years,” he said.
He praised the efforts of doctors, frontline and health workers for their extraordinary services towards protecting people against pandemics.
The governor also underlines the achievement of the state for his credit such as the highest per capita income, third place in this country for the human development index, the best performing countries for the third time in the food security index and the best for its infrastructure.
Goa is the only country to become anchester of two sdg – clean water and sanitation and alternative clean energy, he said.
The governor was awarded President Medal to Superintendant Police Sammy Tavares for his extraordinary service to the police department.
