Goa Govt Announces Cutting 50% for Engineering, Other Professional Courses

PANAJI: While nearly 50% of seats in the four private universities of Goa’s private engineering have been empty for the past few years, seats in Goa Engineering College, which offer subsidized fees, have been filled instantly.
Now, in an effort to improve technical education in the state, the government has introduced a scheme that will extend the benefits of the same costs as all students in the field.
Although students of the pharmaceutical and architectural programs and various polytechnics also qualified, they are from the most useful private engineering universities with the neglect of Rs 36,000 fees to RS one lakh per year.
The state has abolished more than 50% of their costs and has improved RS 40,000 as a basic cost for those who recognize 2021-22 in all engineering universities.
With the introduction of the scheme, students in private technical colleges and the government will now pay the same fee begins with a batch that will be received in 2021-22 and the next three new batches are recognized in the coming years.
During this year, at least 12,000 students will stand up to get.
Chairman of the Pramod Ministers Sawant previously announced a four-year incentive as the Diamond Jubilee (DJ-GIFT) scheme for Mark Goa in the 60th year of liberation, where the RS 40 Crore provision had been made in the APBN.
There will be no income criteria to utilize the scheme.
This will also apply to students throughout the general category and reserved, except for children from NRI and Central Services Personnel, and are expected to benefit more than 95% of students recognize in 15 technical institutions in the state.
Because the acceptance process for the technical and pharmaceutical diploma program starts next week, and with the receipt of the Diploma course has begun on Monday, this scheme is expected to encourage more students to advance to claim seats.
“The minister’s chairmen realized that while hundreds of Crores Rupee was spent on subsidizing costs for the public degree program such as BA, BCOM and BSC, there were no such benefits available for private college engineering students.
When technical education plays an important role in socio-economic development.
CM thinking costs should no longer be a barrier for students to work to pursue technical education, “officials said at the Directorate of Technical Education.
For students recognizing a four-year course of DJ gift schemes, basic costs will remain the same for the whole duration of their program.
This will allow students and their parents to find out the right financial implications involved, unlike before when the costs can be revised for senior years after one joining the program.
For example, students recognize the engineering program in 2021-22 will pay a fixed basic fee of Rs 40,000 for their four years of their courses.
However, the government can change the basic costs for students who are accepted during the following years based on the scheme.
But after admitting, students will pay the same base costs for their entire program.
For example, if the basic costs are converted to Rs 45,000 per year for batches treated in technical courses by 2022-23, that batch will pay this amount as a basic cost for all four years of their courses.
The DJ-Gift scheme offers neglect in tuition fees and development costs paid to the colleges concerned.
