Panaji: Country capital can immediately have a new building to accommodate the corporation of the city of Panaji.
The urban development agency of the Goa State has examined the project and work will begin behind the CCP building this year, said Commissioner Agnelo Fernandes.
With the estimated cost of Rs 9.8 Crore, the ground-plus-five structure is expected to be completed within 18 months.
These costs include the demolition of existing structures, civil works including plumbing, landscaping, electricity and electrical external, elevators, fire extinguisher and pile for the basement.
Fernandes said that the work will be carried out in the phase, and the existing CCP office will remain functional when the work starts in other parts.
Also, the CCP will start livestock drives that are lost on Monday, and will bring wild livestock to Gaushalas in Valpoi and Bicholim, said Fernandes.
“We want to keep our cities and beaches clean.
There are cow dung everywhere and whatever landscape we have done on Miramar Beach has been destroyed,” he said, adding that the corporation had got his vehicle to transport livestock from the Dhyan Foundation.
Corporations have not succeeded in rehabilitating beggars and homelessers on the streets of the capital.
“They refused to go home.
Even though the food and place of residence will be given to them, they want to continue begging.
This is a very organized gang,” Fernandes said.
The corporation will also start auctioning vehicles left in Kampal land.
“We are conducting two-wheeled inventory and four before being auctioned.
At the same time, we will conduct a new survey of vehicles that are not claimed and abandoned who occupy space in the capital,” he said.
The company has identified around 40 vehicles such as it inside and around the city and will direct the owner before taking it, he said.
“We will ask the owner to take them to a safer place from the streets,” he said.
