PANAJI: Chairman of the Minister of Pram Sawant on Wednesday set a new November 15 deadline for Goa to achieve 100% coverage of the two doses of vaccines.
Previously, Sawant has set October 31 as a target.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the country because he had completed the coverage of 100% of the first dose vaccine.
We need cooperation from young people to achieve 100% coverage of a double vaccine dose.
We have maintained the October 31 target, but surely we will achieve it on November 15, “Sawant said, after inaugurating the Swayampurna Yuva program organized by the Commissioner for workers and employment and regional work exchange at DM College, Assagao.
He said the idea behind organizing the Swayampurna Yuva program was to make you aware of the opportunities available in Goa and the state government facilities and schemes available to them.
“Many are not aware of the schemes and facilities offered by the Goa government and do not want to try to learn it,” Sawant said, added that 25 departments were present in the program to explain their respective schemes to participating youth.
He said that the state government had reduced 50% tuition fees for all public stream postgraduate students.
To provide incentives to student registration for the technical degree program, the government has reduced costs with the weight under the DJ prize scheme.
“There is no other country that offers many opportunities for young people as Goa – directly from the pharmaceutical sector to shipbuilding.
India’s first maritime cluster was also formed in Goa,” Sawant said.
He said that more than 60 companies were put together to increase recruitment in the state.
“We have passed the bill to allow private universities to establish campuses in Goa and the process has been going on to establish three private universities in Goa.”
