Goa: ‘GU exams last year offline from Feb 16’

PANAJI: The state government has told the Bombay High Court in Goa that the last year’s examination conducted by the University of Goa will now be held from February 16 in offline mode.
The exam was originally scheduled for January 17, but after several students submitted a petition in the High Court, the University issued a circular postponing the exam until February 7 now, the university would comply with the recommendations of the committee’s state experts and have it from February 16.
Lawyers for a group of applicants, Parag Rao, asked the court if the Expert Committee could regrouped on February 15 after the assemblies to assess the situation.
TNN said the election could be a super spreader with lakh people who chose.
The High Court stated that the University of Goa would be sensitive to the problem and acknowledged it, and the division bench consisting of Hakeses Mahesh Sonak and R N Laddha suggested students to choose when there was a little crowd.
Students have approached the court seeking examination of examinations in offline mode, or that they are held online.
The students were submitted to the High Court that if it was held offline, this could be the life of the students’ life and the safety of their family members.
The problem is related to holding an examination for the last year of all schools.
The students approached the court stating that there was a Covid-19 case increase.
Rao was previously placed on a record that there were 3,119 new cases reported on January 12, with some infected doctors.
Another advice, Amey Kakodkar, also filed that it would be better to safe than regret.
