Valpoi: Upset with Apathy District Administration and Representatives Selected, villagers from Melauli, Paikul, Dhada, Shel, Mainguinium and Murmune in Guleli Panchayat Village in Sattari Taluka have threatened to block the highway in Guleli Village as a sign of protest if the Paicul Bridge Reconstruction does not start Within 15 days.
Submitting representatives to the Deputy Sattari Office of Rajesh Ajgaonkar in Valpoi on Tuesday, the villagers demanded that the bridge foundation stone connecting the village of Paikul must be placed priority because the villagers suffer greatly.
Paicul Bridge is the only source of connectivity for the villagers and after recent collapse, due to flooding, merging and the surrounding area has been cut off.
The villagers expressed their hatred of the North Goa collector which, they claimed, failed to visit the villagers affected by floods from Pancayat Guleli Village.
They also said that in flooding, farmers suffered severe due to failure of disaster management machines.
“Many farmers have to sell their cows because there is no transportation arrangement to supply milk to a fine located in Advoi” said a farmer who claimed that many dairy farmers in the area had sold their cows because of this.
The villagers said that after the collapse of the bridge, many neighboring villages including Dhada-Shel-Mainguinium, Voile-Murmune and Sakahailem Murmune suffered a lack of drinking water because the pipes were placed on the Paicul bridge also collapsed.
“With the closer celebration season and many religious ceremonies march, water tribulation cannot be resolved by the supply of tankers,” said a village resident.
Ajgaonkar, meanwhile, said that he had continued representatives made by the villagers to the collector’s office who requested that the collector must take the construction of the bridge through PWD.
