Panaji: The first case of the Delta-Plus variant of the Coronavirus novel in Goa was revealed on Monday.
This case is related to someone from South Goa who tested positive on July 19, and recovered after house isolation.
The sample is between 16 random samples sent to the genome sequencing to the laboratory outside the cave, and the results are accepted by the state on Monday.
Another detected strain belongs to Delta and Kappa, and seven shows delta sub-lineages.
“The report received today (Monday) is a sample taken on July 19.
One person in the family has traveled to Maharashtra.
Besides him, two family members have been tested positively during that period,” said the Epidemiology of the State Dr.
Utkarsh Betodkar.
The three were vaccinated with a single dose, there was no big problem and did not need to be hospitalized.
When searching for more contact is done, three more in their families, but who lives elsewhere, has also been tested positively.
“They also recover after house isolation.
It can be said that five contacts have Delta-Plus tension even though the sequencing of the samples they are not done.
We chose a random sample for the genome sequencing,” Betodkar said.
“Scientists have not said that Delta and Delta-Plus are two very different strains,” Betodkar said.
“If a completely different mutation arises from the delta, they will give a different name.
When the new sub-genealogy delta detected, it was named delta-plus.
There is no place in this country having a large outbreak reported due to delta-plus tensions.
I was last checked more than fifteen days ago, more than 15 states have a Delta-Plus strain, and maybe now every country has it.
We feel the presence of Delta Plus is very possible in Goa.
