Panaji: In an effort to avoid accidents, the Bombay High Court in Goa has directed that no vehicle traffic is permitted on a dilapidated bridge in Vante, Sattari, to repair.

In his petition in front of the court, Sattari Resident Vighnesh Shirgurkar said that the heavy traffic movement which became a bridge experience during the morning hours had to be stopped.

Shirgurkar, in a letter, has asked the High Court to recognize the serious condition of the bridge and road located between the number of land surveys 60/1 and 110/1 in Vante Village, Sattari.
He stated that the bridge was in a state of Ramshackle and it would likely collapse, and appeal to direct steps to prevent unwanted incidents.
The letter is accompanied by photographs.
He also requested that heavy traffic on the bridge was stopped.
The court then published a notification to the state through the Secretary of the Head and Executive Engineering, Sub-Division-IV, Division-XVI Works (PWD), Valpoi, Sattari.
