Goa: IMD issues thick rainfall warnings for today & tomorrow

Panaji: Goa parts receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday as depression formed as the remaining widesproof and trough spread there from the North Konkan region.
The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has issued a warning to heavy rainfall exceeding 6.4cm in one or two places above Goa on Tuesday and Wednesday with a warning for fishermen not to explore the sea.
Panaji received 8mm rainfall at 5:30 a.m., on Monday.
The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall exceeding 11.5 cm in isolated places in Goa for Monday.
“There are opportunities for short rainfall spells and 40kmph wind speeds in the coming days, depending on the intensity and location.

When the system moves westward west, wind speed can touch 60kmph off the road above Sea.
Therefore fishermen have been warned to avoid traveling to the sea along the coast of Goa and Maharashtra on September 28 and 29.
Typhoon Gulab has a landing on North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha on Sunday, following West-Northwest.
It weakened into depth depression on Monday and will continue to weaken further into a low pressure area which is well marked, said IMD.
