PANAJI: The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Goa for today because of the impact of the Active Monsun Advanced.
IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall exceeding 20cms in 24 hours in one or two places isolated and the possibility of very heavy rainfall in several places in Goa.
“With the increase in rainfall activity to continue, areas that are susceptible to landslides and floods can be stored under supervision.
The water level in the river can be monitored and the necessary prevention measures can be taken,” the meeting department warned.
