POINGUINIM: MANOHAR BYPASS Parragar in Canacona, was built as part of the highway expansion project, completed in November 2019.
This 10km road has cut the distance between Char Rasta in Canacona up to 10 km.
This shortens the time taken to drive across the border to Karwar and its surroundings.
Senior citizens of the region claim that the fence began to corrode in five months after his last painting.
A retired government official said that if this was a condition in Galgibaga, someone could not imagine what to happen to the fence on the Talpona Bridge and Creek Mashem.
Stretch the highway through the mixed area, hilly field and wooded patch.
This makes the highway widen and, therefore, the increase in toll roads from Char Rasta to pollem is conceptualized.
When the Assistant Highway-66 National Engineer was asked about the corrosive fence, he said that the rainy season was over, it would be repaired because the contractor had to look into maintenance for the first five years.
With more than three bridges, Bypass Canacona opened for traffic a year and half a year ago, the maintenance work was only done to a certain extent, after protest and Gheraos, said Secretary General of the State Congress Janardhan Bhandari.
Bypass Canacona was built with an estimated cost of Rs 2.9 Crore.
Bypass, including three vehicle underpasses, 17 pipe culverts and four culverts and is a four lane route.
Three bridges, namely each of the Talpona (450m), the Galgibaga River (500M) and Mashem (130m), are part of the 7.74 km-length bypass road.
