Goa: ‘In 3 months, 14% of Covid cases among children, but there is no hospitalization, death’

Panaji: Over the past 12 weeks, children have formed 14% of all Covid-19 infections detected in the state.
The Directorate of Health Services has revealed that from 5,381 cases between August 23 and November 16, the age group 0-17 formed 767 cases.
Dr.
Ira Almeida’s health service director told TI that the statistics were unusual, and added that no child contracted Covid during this period died.
“No children (even) must be hospitalized,” he said.
“Some of which are in GMC are recognized for other procedures, and Covid-19 is incidental findings.
They do not have covid symptoms, and are found positively only after playing.
Safe for children to return to school.
Given the children are the only ones The population is not vaccinated, we keep the eyes close.
“The Directorate has also monitored Covid statistics for the age group 15-17 after the physical class began to them, and found that they consisted of 27% of all infected children during this period.
“There was no significant increase in Covid-19 infection in this age group even though there was a class for them held in offline mode,” he added.
Dr.
Sushma Kirtani, newborn children and teenagers and members of the Indian pediatric association, also said it was safe for children of all ages to return to school and nurseries, and that this must be done without delay.
“Children have better default immunity and adaptive immunity because of other virus exposure.
They have healthier lungs and immature Ace receptors.
Covid-19 pneumonia cases are severe and adverse results are usually only seen in infants, children -Cons with comorbidity, and those who are compromised by Immuno, “he said.
Parents at the end they tried to educate and discipline their wards, and children frustrated, presenting behavioral problems and falling back in their studies, said Kirtani.
“Children from poorer economic background are encouraged to child workers and will forever lose education if schools continue to be closed.
This will have consequences in the form of child marriage, teen pregnancy, infant death and some related problems,” said Kirtani, who also served as a former leader of the State Commission for the protection of children’s rights.
“All schools and even nurseries must begin to follow all protocols in staggering ways, even for a few hours three times a week, and slowly increase, when monitored,” he said.
He has any other suggestions too: parents should not be allowed inside, children must wear masks and bring sanitisers, the canteen must remain closed (with children being asked to bring their own food), share water and food must be banned, and talk In their corridors it is prohibited.
He also said that midday food could continue as long as there was no density.
Also, what is important, children with respiratory infections must be asked to stay at home.
“If a 100% seating capacity is permitted in air-conditioned theater closed to IFFI, why should children suffer by not returning to schools where the chances of infection spread very low, with open windows and doors?” He asked.
“Children must return to the routine going to school.
And if they don’t, they will fight with their studies when they proceed to a higher class.”
