PANAJI: Former Minister of Lax Minister of Parsekar, A BJP Stalwart for three decades and one of the founders of his Goa unit, announced that he would resign from the party and opposed the assembly selection of 2022 as an independent candidate.
The announcement of the parskar on Friday came a day after the party gave Mandrem tickets to his rival Dairand Sopte, who defected BJP from Congress in 2018.
Parsekar, the second BJP head of Goa’s head after Manohar Parragar, was Convener of the BJP Manifesto Committee and member of the Party Core Committee.
The day before the first list was announced, the parsekar was called to Delhi.
On Friday, while announcing his intention to stop, he said he would “not give up on the pressure tactics of BJP”.
“Even though the parsekar is an independent candidate, he became a popular candidate,” said the former cm.
“In 2017, BJP had given me a ticket but I could not be a popular candidate.
This time, the party rejected the ticket, but I had become a popular candidate.” After the refusal of the ticket, the supporters of the parsekar held a public meeting in Mandrem and persuaded him to compete as independent.
“I want to congratulate the Secretary General of the BJP (organization) of Satish Dhond to force me to get out of parties and contests as independent,” said Parsekar toi.
“The focus of Dhond is 50% in Mandrem, 49% in Bicholim and 1% on the remaining constituencies.
I will send a resignation to the State President of BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade and send copies to Dhond for his example.” In the election of 2017 assembly, parsekar, then The head of the Minister of Thelp, lost more than 7,000 votes for Sopte, who later with Congress.
Parsekar, RSS member, joined BJP in 1988 and opposed his first election in 1989, but lost his deposit.
Coming from a strong MGP support family, the parsekar has a confrontation with his family during the first selection.
In 1994, the parsekar could not present the selection of assembly after BJP falsified the Alliance with MGP and Mandrem seats allocated for regional parties.
In 1999, the parsekar was disappeared, but this time, he could secure his deposit.
The first election he won was in 2002, followed by a victory in the 2007 and 2012 elections.
In November 2014, he became the main minister after Parragar moved to Delhi as Minister of Defense Union.
Parsekar continued as the main minister until 2017.
Previously, Parsekar had occupied various positions in the party, including the President of the State, Secretary General and Secretary.
Parsekar first became the BJP State President in 1999 and later in 2010.
In 2012, under his party’s presidency, BJP for the first time collecting the majority in the Assembly, won 21 seats 40.
