PANAJI: The state government has identified land in Dharbandora Taluka, near the Sanjivani Sugar factory, to establish an International Law University of India and Research the Indian Bar Board Trust.
The Indian Bar Board has been searching for 2 lakh SQM from the ground to establish universities and land demarcation processes ongoing, Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate to Ti.
During the legislative Monsun Assembly session, the state government passed the University of India’s International Law Education and Research on the Indian Bar Board (BCI) believed in the Goa Bill, 2021.
Previously, the Country Cabinet was nodded on the bill.
There are provisions in which ‘beautiful international law and research universities can also establish centers in other parts of India, and abroad.
The Chairperson of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said that 20% of seats will be provided for GOANS, and the university will be fully run by BCI.
While expenditure to establish a university will be borne by BCI, the state government will provide land at no cost, Sawant said.
At present, there are two legal universities in Goa, both of which are affiliated with the University of Goa.
Country, so far, does not have legal law or national law school (NLS).
The government has announced regulations on new universities.
A senior officer said that Chairman of Indian Justice (CJI) or every nomination, a Supreme Court judge who was sitting, would be a “visitor” university.
Sawant also told reporters that the International Arbitration Center will be established in the state.
He said this would be the second center in Asia, the first in Singapore.
BCI has proposed to establish universities in Goa so as to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of the laws and legal processes and their roles in national development, among others.
