PONKA: More than 50 villagers, most women, from Kavlem in Ponda Taluka, marched to the Ponda Police Station on Saturday night looking for a thorough investigation into the case of attacks and security to women after Kavlekar, who was suspected of attacking 19 years.
The old girl on Thursday, was returned in police custody three days.
The case has been registered in Kavlekar at the Ponda Police Station with the provisions of the Indian Code.
The defendant had attacked the girl after he refused the elevator in a two-wheeled vehicle at the Kapileshwari bus stop when he was waiting for the bus.
Irked, Kavlekar allegedly pulled him with his hair and dropped him to the ground, causing his injury.
He then escaped from the scene.
Expressing their concerns that the incident can create an insecurity in the female mind, the local population demands that he can be punished for his crime.
“What if in the future of anyone who dares to kidnap a girl? If she is not punished, the entire village will gather and fend off in front of her house,” the villagers warned.
Meanwhile, the girl underwent treatment at the hospital.
Drupada rose, a pan, said such an incident should not be repeated.
Survivor did not match before the incident and the attack caused his trauma, he added.
