PANAJI: Both after the main minister of the Sawant Pramod deadline to repair a hole in the entire state ended on October 31, Minister PwD Deepak Pauskar on Tuesday admitted that 20% of the work was not finished.
“Eighty percent holes have been cleaned.
The main one hasn’t been fixed,” he said.
Pauskar’s statement came almost a month after former PWD Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar said that the state government would not be able to repair holes in the entire state on November 1 because the coffers were empty.
The Minister of PWD further said that Hotmixing of Roads had begun and that RS 978 Crore was approved by the center of the road connectivity to the Greenfield airport in the Mopa.
“Working on a link to the Mopa airport will start immediately and will be completed within 15 months,” he said.
Minister of Union for road and highway transportation, Nitin Gadkari, has instructed the contactor, M V Rao, to maintain quality standards while building a national highway, said Pauskar.
When asked when working on an elevated flyover in Porvorim it would begin, Pauskar said the villagers had approached the court and that the minister’s chairman had held five rounds of meetings with them.
“Both come to understanding to increase the height of the bridge.
The work will begin,” he said.
He also said that 55% of people in the state have benefited after the state government announced that it would provide free water supply up to 16,000 liters.
