Panaji: With an electric vehicle running successfully in Goa under Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) and more buses lined up to join the fleet, five other vehicle charging stations are expected to be ready next month in the state.
Currently there are charging stations in Panaji, Vasco, Pernem, Ponda and Valpoi, and only one electric vehicle charging station operates in Margao.
“After we decentralized the filling station, it would help us cover more interior routes.
The charging station in Vasco will be ready at the end of this month while the remaining four will take one and a half months to be ready,” said KTC General Manager, Sanjay Ghate.
KTCL operates 35 EV at this time in Goa.
This is part of 50 vehicles that goes have been given under the Indian Fame II Fame Scheme.
The 15 remaining vehicles are expected to be delivered by the same Hyderabad-based company with the previously produced 35.
The award letter has been issued for 100 other electric buses to the company, the supply expected will start from June 22, and so on.
“EVS will be sent in phase.
We expect about 25 buses in June and 25 others in September.
In December we hope to receive the remaining buses.
As a result, Goa will have a large fleet of KTC EV at the end of next year.
