Panaji: Goa, who saw a 30% growth in the GST collection for April during the same month in 2019, saw its income split in two during the second Covid-19 wave, especially in May and June.
Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said that the state had experienced loss of large income, but stated optimism that Goa would rise again.
Financial Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel said that despite the decline in income, he was convinced that the GST Cave collection for 2021-22 would reach the highest record.
“This time, in the second wave, even though we haven’t taken a full review, there are more than 50% of income losses,” Sawant said, spoke in the inauguration of Kar Kar Bhavan or the state GST building.
Although PWD began the initial construction of the building in Altinho, submitted to the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation and had been completed by the estimated cost of Rs 19.5 Crore.
Sawant said that despite creating a large loss of income, the state has been able to maintain its impact and even provide assistance to the industry.
Sawant said that the last date to archive the return of VAT has been extended, costs, punishment and interest in the submission of tax returns has declined, and the license that will expire during locking has been extended.
Spilling more light on the country’s income chart, Goel said that even though the GST collection in April 2021 was 30% higher than the collection in April 2019, the GST mop-up was down in May and June, when the country was under the curfew to curb spread Covid-19 infection.
Goel said he was convinced that the GST collection would increase in July.
“Honest taxpayers will not be harassed and dishonest taxpayers will not be spared.
If we go with this motto, despite the loss of income in the past two months, we will post a collection of recordings at 2021-22,” Goel said , Sawant also said that during the first wave of Covid-19, when the entire country was under the ranks, Goa’s income fell to only 10% of the previous character.
“Sometimes it is very difficult to know how to manage state finances, but I am proud to be able to say that even though there are obstacles, bills worth Rs 500 Crore paid last year without placing financial burdens in Kitty countries,” Sawant said.
The chairman of the minister urges PPN taxpayers and other people to resolve long tax disputes waiting for a time-completion scheme.
“Under the one-time completion scheme stated by the GST commissioner, around 11,800 people submitted an application.
More can advance and resolve their case.
We want to clean backlogs.
There are pending problems related to VAT, excise, GST in the last few years,” Sawant said , Want to make Altinho Admin Hub: Sawant Panaji: The State Government aims to turn Altinho into an administrative hub, said Head of the Minister of Pramod Sawant even when he directed the cave-country infrastructure development company to prepare the design for Altinho.

In the future, the Office of the State Election Commission will also be reconstructed.
I have instructed GSIDC to plan the Altinho area, to develop it correctly,” Sawant said.
