Margao: A eight-year-old girl was persecuted by a package of street dogs in Dongorim, Navelim on Thursday.
The girl was treated at Hospicio Hospital and was allowed to go home.
Navelim residents were led by Functioner AAP Pratima Coutinho said that the girl walked on the road outside her home when about 7-8 dogs attacked her.
“They pounced him to fall and bite him in various places on his head, hands and other parts.
He experienced at least 20 bites,” Coutinho said.
The girl was then saved by the locals.
By stating that the threat of wild dogs has made Navelim insecure, residents urged Navelim Mla Luizinho Faleiro and authorities to take steps to control the population of wild dogs in the village.
