Panaji: Upset with Congress for denying him the Benaulim seat, former Minister of Tourism Francisco ‘Mickky’ Pacheco checked out of the party on Saturday after a short seven months.
He blamed everything from the skill of Pula Chidambaram to ‘Formalin Mafia’ for his decision.
The former Flamboyan legislator said he had a ‘big plan’ for the congress but the system ‘rusty, creaky and unoned’ had convinced him that the congress was the ‘sad loser’ party.
Pacheco wants to oppose the election of the Benaulim on Congress tickets, but the party chooses Anthony Dias, a newcomer for politics.
He accused the congress ‘Stuffing Sockets’ during the selection process and related to several other political parties.
Southern Congress Congress District Committee Secretary General Gina Pereira also tried to find out why the committee was guarded in the dark about ticketing tickets to the Dias.
Meanwhile, the Benaulim voters said Pacheco still had a significant influence in the election and support could provide congressional superiority.
Perhaps the weirdest complaint he had was with former Finance Minister Union P Chidambaram was appointed as a senior congressional election strategist for Goa.
“The High Congress Command was sent in P Chidambaram.
His elocution skills are good, although no bigger than Shashi Tharoor.
It doesn’t have stings and not suitable for Goan’s weather,” Pacheco said.
