Goa: Ministry of Tourism Hesitated on the Beach License Rebate

PANAJI: The Goa Government has not made a decision about giving beach shacks with discount costs for license fees and files that propose rebates today delayed by the government.
Last month, the welfare community owner Shack (sowing) submitted a proposal to the Department of Tourism which requested a license reduction and other cost costs to prepare a seasonal hut.
“We have sent a proposal to the government asking for help to be given to Shack Beach, Allottes and are waiting for an answer,” said a tourism official.
Shack Stings is looking for rebates at various costs because of the two unfavorable back-to-back seasons.
While the government has not made a call, Shack’s owner is worried about delays because it will stretch the process of setting the hut.
Goa has seen a stable tourist flow even as a covid-19 limit has not been fully lifted.
Therefore, the operator looks forward to the new season.
Mathew Fernandes, a shack operator from North Goa, said that they hoped the government would reduce license fees, such as last season, without further delay, so they could begin the process of setting the hut.
The validity of the three-year coastal shack license ended in 2021-22.
“Even though it takes four to five days to set the hut, there may be further delays when you have some hands to carry out work,” Fernandes said.
Allottees will be able to run the hut arrangement work only after the Ministry of Tourism completes the duty of the demarcation of the hut.
The shack operator, he said, has not paid a license fee but hopes the government will reduce it.
Seasonal huts remain operating from September to May.
But for the past two seasons, because of a pandemic, the hut was forced to close the operation two months earlier.
