Panaji: The Indian Navy comes to save a fisherman, who has a serious injury which causes excessive blood loss, 75 miles of Goa off the coastal sea on Thursday.
Fishermen, who were identified as Vipin, had some fractures in his hand and were extraordinary ill when the fishing vessel made an emergency call for help.
INS Aditya, a charging and repair of a ship based in Mumbai, came out on the sea and immediately responded to SOS’s call.
A rigid rubber boat (RIB) was deployed to pick up fishermen from Fish Catcher F V Mahonnathan.
The Navy said the medical team on board ins Aditya provided rapid medical assistance for fishermen suffering severe injuries.
“Vipin suffered serious injury his right hand which resulted in excessive blood loss and low blood oxygen levels.
He had suffered a fracture related to a crush on several fingers his right hand before he was evacuated.
He was treated onboard to capture bleeding and achieve hemodynamic stabilization,” said Navy.
Hemodynamic stability is a medical term used to describe the recovery of stable blood pressure and patient heartbeat.
More details about causes of injuries that are not available.
While Vipin underwent medical treatment, the Aditya crew provided the remaining fishermen and FV Mahonnathan crew with cooked food.
“The injured fisherman was sewn and once he was stable, he was transferred to join his colleagues,” Navy said.
