Panaji: Commerce Room and the Goa Industry (GCCI) have warned tourism stakeholders to assume compliance with existing Covid protocols, and say that negligence by hospitality, tourism stakeholders and state government will lead to the close of the tourism industry again.

GCCI said that the hotel and tour operating staff must be fully vaccinated to ensure the security of citizens and visitors.

GCCI, along with the international charter operator, has sent representation to the state government and even met with the Chairman of the Pramod Sawant Minister who asked him to start an international flight to Goa.

GCCI and TTG have campaigned for scheduled flights and international charteres to land at Goa International Airport with strict Covid norms.
Deviations in the Covid protocol will lead to a surge in new cases, and the government will not have a choice but to stop the flow of tourists, which leads to the failure of the upcoming tourist season, said Sousa.
He also said that vaccine certificates or negative RT-PCR tests need to be verified on the border and during check-in.
“If this is strictly followed, the Goan Tourism industry will return to its track and ensure the increase in economic growth, which was lost last year,” Sousa said.
GCCI also said that the center had received industrial demand to extend the timeline for the company to hold an annual general meeting (GMS).
