Panaji: After a few flip flops and temptations with all Trinamool Indian Congress (TMC), MLA Prasad Gaonkar Sanguem returned to the folding Congress on Sunday.
Gaonkar, who initially supported the state government led by BJP, resigned as Mla the previous day.
After submitting his resignation, Gaonkar said people from the country did not want BJP.
He also said that during the reign of the Congress government, below, the minister’s chairman was drawn by KAmat, the countries were happy.
“Today, people from the country are not happy.
We will form a new team in Congress and Congress will form the next government in Goa,” he said.
“Let us all unite to bring Congress into power and get a stable government.” Gaonkar supporters too, including his brother, joined the Congress.
They claimed that they were sure to win the Sanguem constituency for Congress.
Previously, in July, Goankar supporters joined Congress only to get out of parties and join TMC in October.
This month the most next month, Gaonkar appeared in Delhi with Goa Forward Mlaas to meet Rahul Gandhi, where he said he would support the Congress.
“Congress failed to take advantage of anger towards BJP,” said Gaonkar when he joined TMC.
On Sunday, after joining Congress, he admitted that he had criticized the party.
“I did say a lot of things to Congress but during the election, new parties came to the country but the congress was there for a long time.
TMC has come up with new ideas and problems but I am not comfortable with them because of its function.
I have supported them , and my brother joined TMC, “said Gaonkar.
Gaonkar was a member of Congress but the difference in 2012 pushed him to leave a party and pursue an independent path in his political career.
In October 2020, Gaonkar had resigned his support from the government after the war of the words between him and the Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant for the IIT arrangement in Sanguem.
Sawant said that Goankar was interested in land offers and therefore pushed IIT in Sanguem.
“Goa people suffer.
We need to save Goa by overcoming all problems.
I feel only Congress can realize our dreams.
Give us a majority and support us to form the next government,” Gaonkar said.
The former Elvis Gomes bureaucrat, who was present to welcome Gaonkar into the folds of the party, said that communal tension and trends to divide the sound had reached the cave.
