Goa: One dead in an accident on the Zuari Bridge site

Panaji: One person died and the other was seriously injured at Agassaim after the crane traveling overhead electricity (EOT) came crashing on the lifter boom.
Cranes are being used to raise the range made for the new Zuari bridge.
The incident occurred between 12 noon and 12:30 when two men – Sushil Kumar, 29, from above, and Ravindra Mahatamoo, 29, from Bihar – disassembled the routine while sitting in the lifter boom bucket.
EOT crane was installed almost three years ago to lift the span of the concrete bridge.
With time the beans and bolts have developed rust, and the two men released this when the incident occurred.

Shared the two injured to Goa Medical College where Kumar was declared dead.
Mahato’s condition is serious.
The police conducted a preliminary investigation into this case before taking action against the bridge contractor.
